  • CONSULTATION & DESIGN - We begin with you.

    Every treatment begins with a conversation. We’ll disscuss your desired result, assess your feautres, skin and existing tattooing where relevant, and carefully consider shape, colour and finish.

  • YOUR TREATMENT - Carefully considered. Never rushed.

    Once your design is approved, your cosmetic tattoo is carefully created using techniques selected specifically for you. Treatment time varies depending on the area and desired result, with comfort, precision and attention to detail prioritized throughout.

  • HEALING - What happens after your appointment.

    Your tattoo will soften and settle considerably as it heals. You’ll leave with everything you need to care for the area at home, along with clear aftercare instructions to support the best possible healed result.

  • PERFECTING - Refining your healed results.

    Cosmetic tattooing is a process, not simply a single appointment. Once fully healed, your perfecting session allows us to assess pigment retention and refine the colour, shape or finish where needed.

  • Preparation varies slightly depending on your treatment. You’ll receive all relevant pre-care information prior to your appointment, including anything you may need to avoid beforehand to help prepare the skin and achieve the best possible result.

  • Possibly. Existing cosmetic tattooing must be assessed before booking a new treatment. Depending on its colour, saturation, shape and condition, correction may be possible or fading/removal may be recommended first.

  • Cosmetic tattooing gradually fades over time. Longevity varies depending on your skin, lifestyle, sun exposure, skincare, treatment area and chosen technique. Colour boosts can be performed when your tattoo has faded enough to benefit from refreshing.

  • Your cosmetic tattoo will initially appear stronger and more defined than the final result. As the skin heals, the colour will soften and change before settling. Detailed aftercare instructions will be provided following your appointment.

  • Skin & Ink Studios is a private residential studio located in Mount Clear, Ballarat. For privacy, the full address is provided to booked clients prior to their appointment and is included in your appointment information and reminder.
